Confidence | 自信心
INDEPENDENT PRACTICE |
INDEPENDENT PRACTICE: THE POWER OF FOCUS AND GOALS
Professor Xue says: Attending class alone is not enough. Even the best teacher can't help if you don’t practice on your own.
Practicing by yourself means reflecting. Practicing isn’t just about time — it’s about carving your thinking!
✔ Set clear goals before each session
✔ Practice during your golden hour (e.g., morning)
✔ Create a “problem–solution” review system
FUSION OF PEDAGOGICAL TRADITIONS |
Professor Xue says: In the face of the technical rigor of the Russian school and the subtle expression of the French school, I advocate for a “dynamic balance.”
Every student is a unique instrument. Education should be tailored based on their personal conditions and cultural backgrounds.
Among my students, some follow the German-Austrian tradition, while others specialize in folk styles. What matters is discovering the common logic behind each voice.
MUTUAL GROWTH: A RECIPROCAL JOURNEY |
Professor Xue says: Teachers must also be lifelong learners. They must constantly improve themselves and keep learning new performance ideas — growing alongside their students.
He shares practical methods:
• Collaborate with young students to spark new thinking
• Personally test techniques to validate theory
• Join masterclasses regularly to stay sharp
He compares teaching to a “laboratory”: “Each time I teach, it’s an experiment — success or failure helps shape better ways to pass on music.”
This may be the secret behind training world-class performers — building a bridge between reason and emotion, guiding students toward the soul of music.
